She attended Loyola University and earned her BA Degree. While in college, she interned at Loyola University Day Care Center as a teacher’s assistant. While in school she also volunteered at Children’s Hospital, spending time with the children in the cancer unit.  Koula played games, kept the children company, and supported the children in staying mentally and emotionally upbeat.

Koula has always had a love for teaching young children so when the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Community of New Orleans voted to support and provide assistance for the formation of Cathedral Montessori School, she volunteered for two years to help teach Greek language at the school. She was thenasked to join the staff, and with the support of CMS she earned a Montessori Certification from Montessori World Educational Institute.or. For the past few decades she has instructed Primary Montessori students. Koula observes and assesses student’s performance, tracks progress, and prepares lessons and material in the school environment.  She is a firm believer in Montessori philosophy and education. Koiula has watched the Montessori method work and shape the foundation of the whole child as well as life-long learners.

Koula is an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She is a past PTA president, Member of Philoptochos (Friends of the Poor), Chairman of the Entrance for Greek Festival, and has taught Sunday School for 25 years. Koula loves to travel and explore new cultures and people.
