Extended Day Activities Available
YOGA
This weekly program at Cathedral Montessori connects students with the freedom of their being. The yoga program helps students regulate their emotions and body movements with a focus on fostering empathy and compassion as it promotes self-confidence, fun, kindness, and healthy living habits.
MUSIC
One-on-one private music lessons in piano or ukulele are offered for older Primary Student and Elementary students. Classes are 30 minutes long. Additionally, a 1-hour group class is offered weekly to Primary students.
SOCCER WITH COACH JOSH
Josh Tolbert is the owner of Junction Place Sports, that provides extra curricular sports for young children in the New Orleans area. He incorporates the Montessori Philosophy to structure the program. The program is tailored to teach fitness, social skills, and offers educational elements to each lesson. The coaches foster a positive competitive environment and promote fun above all else. The program uses a variety of fun games to delight and engage the kids in physical activity. It is designed to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and create self-confidence. The progression of skills includes games to develop balance, movement and motor skills, as well as listening skills. The progression also includes development of kicking and running control.
Extended Day
On days CMS is open, extended care hours are available from 7:30 a.m.—8:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
Extended day fees are due on the first of each month. Families will need to sign up for one, two, or three hours per day. It is rare that four hours per day is needed, but it will be offered if there is a desperate need.
One hour per day = $100 per month
Two hours per day = $200 per month
Three hours per day = $300 per month
Four hours per day = $400 per month
Again, families need to sign up and pay in advance each month. We will not be able to take drop-ins or provide end-of-the-month billing.
